Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Andre Russell attained a massive milestone for the eastern giants in match number 16 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. With KKR taking on the Delhi Capitals in Vizag, Russell shined with a neat 19-ball 41. He hammered four fours and three sixes as KKR posted the second-highest total in IPL history (272/7). Sunil Narine was KKR’s magician, smashing 85 runs from 39 balls.
Russell raced to 200 IPL sixes for the Knight Riders in the IPL. He became the first player in the franchise’s history to set this record. Nitish Rana (106) is the only player with 100-plus sixes for the side.
Russell, who earlier became the ninth player to surpass 200 sixes in the league’s history, became the sixth player to register 200-plus sixes for a franchise in the competition.
KKR beat DC by 106 runs to maintain their perfect start to the IPL 2024 campaign. Russell became the second KKR bowler with 100-plus wickets in the IPL after off-spinner Narine (166). He took 1/14 from 1.2 overs. DC folded for 166 in 17.2 overs.
